Red Carpet Wonderful!
Oscars 2014 – WOW! My 20th Academy Awards® viewing party was the best of them all (so far) made the more special with the release of my book, KitchAnnette™ Red Carpet Menus.
It was a GREAT SHOW! Ellen DeGeneres did a fabulous job.
My cocktail-creating cousin, Chris Plati, brought pear-infused gin and prosecco garnished with homemade candied lemon slices to complement the appetizers, although it complemented EVERYTHING! Another sexy cocktail was created by Nazario Bosco, who also used prosecco, but paired it with Aperol and fresh orange. So perfect with all the dishes too!
And the food… my 2014 menu, was really, really GOOD! The platters were emptied faster than the seat of the winners upon hearing their names!
Here’s the repast recap:
12 Pears Enclaved: Kudos to Adriene Sakumoto for taking on this dish! She made a beautiful platter!
Cup’d In Phyll-Ups: Adriene also plated this wonderful tray. She came ready to work and she DID!!!
Filetmignon: I didn’t plan on making a platter like this but I was against the clock! This was so tender, the buttery tarragon sauce so delicately delish.
Nebraskorn: It had the perfect note of Romano flavor giving simple corn an elegant upgrade.
Collard Fryers Grub: I never saw so many people go back for seconds and thirds of green veggies!
Herbs: This salad was the perfect refreshing note to prep the palate for the next course.
American Truffle: My mom Toni wanted to make this one for the big show and it was pure chocolate perfection in a little morsel.
Baklavity: These were such a big hit. They actually become a bit addictive – you have been warned.
The Pouf of Pommes Sweet: I am always partial to a fruity dessert. And a mini pouf of apples like this… heaven!
The evening was capped off when I was presented with a wonderful award – the BEST ZITO Oscar – by Nazario.
I want to thank all of my guests, my happy helpers, and everyone who has been raving about KitchAnnette™ Red Carpet Menus. I am thrilled!!!
