KitchAnnette’s 2014 Oscar® Menu is here!

I am pleased to announce the KitchAnnette 2014 Oscar® Menu! I am also amazed to share that this is my 20th year doing this – 20 YEARS! I can’t believe it. And to commemorate that anniversary, there’s a special surprise being finalized – stay tuned.
But until then, please enjoy this year’s rich, decadent, menu selections with each morphed into the movie posters based of the 9 Best Picture Academy Awards® Nominations.
The movie: 12 Years A Slave. The dish: 12 Pears Enclaved…Pear slices wrapped with truffle cheese & baby arugula in prosciutto.
The movie: Captain Phillips. The dish: Cup’d In Phyll-Ups…Phyllo cups “filled up” with lobster.
The movie: Philomena. The dish: Philetmignon…Filet mignon with tarragon butter finish.
The movie: Nebraska. The dish: Nebraskorn…Creamed corn.
The movie: Dallas Buyers Club. The dish: Collard Fryers Grub…Sautéed collard greens.
The movie: Her. The dish: Herb…CHICKory with herbs salad.
The movie: American Hustle. The dish: American Truffle…Chocolate truffles.
The movie: Gravity. The dish: Baklavity…Baklava.
The movie: The Wolf of Wall Street. The dish: The Pouf of Pommes Sweet…Apple “beggar’s purse” pastry.
Yeah, some of them are “a stretch” – nothing new there! I’m thankful for many great suggestions but was directly inspired by Randi Ginsberg who’s thought of lobster bisque led to Cup’d in Phyll-ups, Stefanie Sanabria who nailed Philetmignon, and Alan DiStassio who put forth poached pears as 12 Pears Enclaved but I had a more savory approach. I would not have gotten it together without them! Honorable mentions to Gregg Zeidenberg, Daryl Cheang, Joe Becwar, and Laura Singer who kept the ideas coming steadily.
