You know what it’s like when you get up in the morning… make that coffee & take a few minutes for the first few sips to transition from slumber to day… ahhh… But then it’s time to get in the shower and out the door fast! You need a great breakfast if you’re planning a productive day.

This Apple Pie Oatmeal is the way to go. No added sugar required! Between the fresh apple, cinnamon, and touch of vanilla, it’s a steady energy sweet that won’t have you crashing by mid-morning. And it tastes like apple pie, which is one of my most favorite desserts! YEAH!

Here’s how:

IMG_9450INGREDIENTS:
• 1/2 cup rolled oats
• 1/2 your favorite variety of apple
• 1 tsp pecans, chopped
• 1/2 tsp cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp vanilla
• 1 cup water

DIRECTIONS:
1) Chop the apple into small pieces. Set aside.
2) Place oats in a microwavable bowl. Add the apples, pecans, cinnamon, and vanilla. Pour in the water and stir.
3) Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Stir. Microwave an additional 30 seconds. Serve.

I know, after watching you’re thinking “she must really believe in this recipe to brave a camera without makeup” and you’re right – I do! I brought you reality morning moments in my life to show you how being fully awake is not required to make this delicious bowl of apple heaven! Ha!

Of course you can substitute the apple for pear, banana, berries… and choose your nuts of choice if pecans aren’t your thing. Be your best YOU when you start your day with this version of apple pie! Now it’s off to shower and fix this face!
